SHIPPING & RETURNS

Shipping Information

Most of our website is made to order. If items are in stock, we will ship right away. Otherwise, we have to make your order which requires cutting, sewing and dyeing and that will typically ship within 1-4 weeks. In some cases, shipment can be 6-8 weeks. Please see Our Process for more information. If you have a deadline for shipment, please let us know before you place an order, so we can find a way to meet your schedule (if possible). Please use the Contact Us form for any requests.

Shipment is typically via US Postal Service (USPS). For packages over 1lb, we generally use Priority Mail for West Coast customers (delivery in 1-3 days) and Parcel Post for the rest of the US (delivery in 3-7 days). If the package is under 1lb, we ship USPS First Class (delivery 2-7 days).

For Bay Area residents, in-store pickup is an option.

Orders over $200 qualify for free shipping (US only).

Return Policy In General

We offer store credit or exchange. Sorry, no refunds. We cannot accept returns of socks, underwear, scarves, masks, or items that have been hemmed, altered, washed, or worn.

Return Policy for Online Orders

Procedure for returns of online orders:

Step 1 - Email workshop@shopcottonbasics.com with details on the items you would like to return, including your order number. Please specify if you will drop off or mail back the return. Please also specify if you would like an exact item exchange or store credit. (The sooner you let us know, the better, so we can start making your replacement item.) We will send a confirmation/approval email.

Step 2 - In your return package, please include your packing slip or order number with your full name, phone number, and the email address used to purchase. Describe items being returned and reason for return. Please mail or drop off approved online return(s) to our Berkeley location:

Step 3 - Notify us by email that your package has been mailed or dropped off. 

Step 4 - We will issue a store credit within 7 business days of return arrival. Exact item exchange will be issued immediately (or as soon as possible, if the replacement needs to be made to order or is not in stock). Since we are made-to-order, we have found that store credit is the system that works best for our customers.
